AOL's Merlin DB may have been comprimised by a "hacker" (backup)

There's a story on The Reg about this, frankly alot of this is bad reporting and alot of it needs to be re-read and confirmed.
As a user on /. commented "AOL's central customer database, Merlin, may have been been compromised", What a stupid comment. In other news... "Aliens MAY have invaded Italy...", "Saddam Hussein MAY have a gay lover..." or "I MAY have sex with Liv Tyler tonight..."
